We are a technology provider of MicroCSP systems that serve the broader electric power and thermal energy markets.  Our proprietary MicroCSP technology uses small-scale, parabolic trough solar thermal technology that uses solar collectors, concentrating reflectors with optics, low cost thermal storage, sun tracking, and proprietary system software to effectively generate energy.  Our systems can be used to produce power as well as thermal energy, which can be used for process heat and solar air conditioning, or a hybrid of these applications.

Our MicroCSP technology has been designed to address the need for modular concentrated solar thermal power systems to deliver distributed electric power and thermal energy. Our goal is to deploy one- to 50-megawatt power systems and ten to 1,000 tons of solar air conditioning and meet industrial process heat load requirements from 1,000 to 50,000 MBTUs and higher. Our proprietary solar collector and HTH system design allows for strong kilowatt hour performance, ease-of-installation, and rapid system deployment and have been designed with off-the-shelf components using local manufacturing to meet local content requirements.  We believe our systems cost-effectively address multiple end-market applications as well as the needs of many attractive geographic markets which have previously been underserved by traditional solar technologies [such as crystalline, thin-film and large-scale concentrating solar power] These geographic markets include regions with scarce water supply, dense populations, lack of contiguous plots of land, and environments previously thought to be too harsh for many solar technologies.

We provide our customers with distributed solar systems that generate electric power or thermal energy including process heat and solar air conditioning. In the power generation segment, our customers primarily include utilities and independent power producers, or IPPs.  These customers typically deploy our systems in one- to 50-megawatt increments.  In the thermal energy segment, our customers primarily include industrial processing plants, commercial businesses, and energy services companies, or ESCOs.  For solar air conditioning, our customers’ projects are typically ten to 1,000 tons in size, consistent with the typical load requirements of a big box retailer or an industrial complex.  For industrial process heat, our customers’ project size is generally better suited toward large manufacturing complexes with thermal heat loads of 1,000 to 50,000 MBTUs or higher.  We believe that the United States and emerging high-growth markets, such as India, China and Latin America, represent our largest market opportunities because they have highly attractive solar resources and policy mandates in place which encourage the deployment of solar thermal systems.
