2002: Energy Laboratories™ the energy concept incubator from Energy Industries™studies optimal renewable energy options for Hawaii and similar locations. Two solar technologies are developed, prototyped and deployed for field testing.
2003: Hawaiian Electric Inc. (NYSE: HE) features one of the core technologies being developed by Energy Laboratories in its annual report to its shareholders.
2004: A new solar technology is designed, prototyped and deployed on the rooftop of Energy Laboratories in Honolulu, Hawaii.
2005: Data from the 3 different technologies are accumulated, evaluated and compared. From this data the SopoNova™ MicroCSP™ collector is created.
2006: Sopogy Inc. is established and closes its Series A private equity financing and receives "honorable mention" from Hawaii Venture Capital Association.
2007: The State of Hawaii authorizes a $10 million dollar special purpose revenue bond for Sopogy, Inc. and the company installs technology at various customer locations throughout North America and Hawaii.
